Louise Bourgeois: Alone & Together
Beijing, 2012
Faurschou Foundation
We are mortally alone and we are inextricably connected. The balance of 'being in the world' - alone and together - is a struggle that Louise Bourgeois understood so well and embodied in her art. A connection fraught with anxiety and pain, but also one of the great sources of pleasure and reasons to persist in our separate, yet intertwined existences.

Bourgeois' first retrospective exhibition in China, spans seven decades of her practice, the exhibition includes work from across her diverse oeuvre that reveals the central themes and rhythms of her autobiographical art.
